一、什么是域名后缀
域名后缀，正式名称叫顶级域 （Top-Level Domain，TLD）。在 example.com 里，.com 就是顶级域，example 是二级域（也就是主体名）。一个完整域名从右往左读，层级依次降低：. 是根，com 是顶级域，example 是用户自己注册的部分。
这套结构由 DNS 的层次体系支撑。根区（root zone）在最顶上，由 ICANN（互联网名称与数字地址分配机构）协调管理，根区里登记了所有现行的顶级域。注册一个域名，本质上是从某个顶级域的管理机构手里，租用其中的一个二级域。
现在能统计到的域名后缀约有1598个左右，不包括二级后缀。以后可能会增多或者减少。全部列出如下

按归属和开放方式，顶级域大致分成五类：
gTLD（通用顶级域） ：最早的一批。1985 年就有了 .com .net .org，后来陆续加入 .info .biz .name .mobi 等。它们不绑定国家，理论上向全球开放。
ccTLD（国别和地区顶级域） ：两个字母，对应国家或地区的 ISO 代码，比如 .cn 中国、.jp 日本、.uk 英国、.de 德国。ccTLD 由各国家/地区指定的机构运营，注册政策自己定。
newgTLD（新通用顶级域） ：2012 年，ICANN 开放新一轮顶级域申请，允许企业和机构申请任意字符串作为后缀。这一轮直接让后缀数量从几十个暴涨到上千个，.club .shop .app .xyz .在线 .商城 都属于这类。今天看到的绝大多数后缀，都是这一波的产物。
Brand TLD（品牌顶级域） ：newgTLD 里的一个子类，由企业为自己品牌申请的专属后缀，比如 .google .apple .alibaba。大多不对外公开注册，是企业自持的数字资产。
sTLD（受限顶级域） ：需要特定资质才能注册的，比如 .bank 只对合规金融机构开放，.edu 面向教育机构，.gov 面向政府，.mil 面向军事。
理解这五类，是理解后面所有数据的前提。
二、域名后缀统计分析
1 按类型
1598 个后缀按类型分布如下：

newgTLD 一家占了近一半，加上它衍生的 Brand TLD，两类合起来接近八成。真正意义上"谁都能注册"的老牌通用后缀 gTLD，只剩 19 个，占 1.2%。sTLD 只有 4 个，.bank .edu .gov .mil。
看平均长度会有一个发现：不是越新越短，而是越老越短。ccTLD 平均 2.47 字符最短（大量两字母国别码），gTLD 3.74 字符次之，越往 newgTLD(5.23)、Brand TLD(5.86) 走反而越长。原因也简单------短的、好记的字符串，早被历史占完了。
2 按语言

英文后缀 1428 个，占 89.4%，是绝对主体。非英文的国际域名（IDN）只有 170 个。其中中文 65 个，其他语言 105 个。
那 105 个非中文 IDN 覆盖了 33 种语言/文字：阿拉伯语 28 个最多，日语 13 个、俄语 11 个、韩语 5 个、印地语 5 个，再往下是泰米尔语 4、波斯语 4、乌尔都语 4，以及希伯来语、希腊语等。可以说，除了英文和中文，其余语种在域名世界的存在感都很稀薄。
中文的 65 个后缀内部又能细分：行业词 17（.商城 .网店 .餐厅 .招聘 .游戏）、品牌 16（.亚马逊 .谷歌 .大众汽车 .工行）、通用词 12（.中国 .公司 .网络 .在线）、地名 7（.广东 .香港 .台灣）、机构 7（.政务 .公益 .慈善）、其他 6（.中文网 .我爱你 .测试）。中文后缀的构词逻辑基本是"把常用词直接中文注册"，一眼能看懂含义。
3 英文域名按长度
只看 1428 个英文后缀，长度分布高度集中在前段：

英文后缀平均长度 5.04 字符 。≤3 字符的有 487 个，占 34.1%；≤5 字符的有 880 个，占 61.6%------也就是说，六成英文后缀都在 5 个字母以内。最长的是一个 18 字符的后缀。
顺带一个细节：1428 个英文后缀全部是纯字母，没有一个含数字，也没有一个含连字符。
4 英文域名按首字母
1428 个英文后缀，26 个字母一个不落地都用上了，但分布极不均匀：

最多的是 S（139）、C（127）、A（100）、B（98）、M（93）；最少的是 Q（5）、X（8）、Z（10）、Y（12）、U（15）。S 开头的后缀数量是 Q 的 27.8 倍，首尾差距大得离谱。
S 后面能接的英文词根最多------shop、site、store、space、school 都是高频构词；Q 后面基本只能跟 u，能凑出来的单词屈指可数。后缀的首字母分布，本质上是英语构词能力的一次映射。

最抓眼的一条结论：金融 67 + 保险 35 + 银行 33 = 135 个，是科技（56）的 2.4 倍。后缀持有量最大的行业是金融，不是科技。
再看品牌 TLD 那 525 个的行业归属：汽车 46、通信 40、科技 34、银行 31、金融 30、企业 29、保险 26、零售 25、媒体 22。汽车和通信企业是申请品牌后缀最积极的两类。

三、如何选择域名后缀
1. 通用规则
