Chapter 1. Overview

The JL5109C is a 9*port Fast Ethernet (FE) switch with MII/RMIl interface. It supports Quality of Service

(QoS) functions with 4-level priority queues that ensure the performance of a number of real-time

network applications.

The JL5109C integrates a 2K-entry address lookup table and a 4-way associative hash algorithm to validate input values, avoid hash collisions, and maintain forwarding performance. The supported maximum length of a data packet is 4096 bytes. With three types of independent storm filters, the

JL5109C can filter packet storms. The JL5109Caso integrates an intelligent switch engine that solves theHead-of-Line(HOL) blocking problems.

The JL5109C supports 16VLAN groups that can be configured as port-basedVLANs and/or 802.1Q tag.based VLANs.

entry L2 multicast table

570K bits packet buffer and supports full mesh test from 64B to 1518B

.Quality of Service (QoS)

Supports high.performance QoS function on each port

Weighted Round Robin service and Strict Priority

.1Q-based,Port-based, DSCP-based priority assignments

Supports Queue Management Operations

·Disables scheduling of packets on a port

·Disables queuing new packets to a port

*Allows a port to be drained without sending out packets

.Allows one port traffic to be sent out to another port

*Allows checking whether a port is empty or not

Supports hardware loop detection function with LEDs and buzzer to indicate the existence of a loop

multicast packets
